Sachin Tendulkar Retirement From Cricket

India captain MS Dhoni has declared cricket will be bidding farewell to the "greatest of them all" when Sachin Tendulkar starts his 200th and last Test match here in the Wankhede Stadium on Thursday.
On the eve of Tendulkar's feverishly-anticipated retirement bash, which if you look hard enough also doubles as the second Test between India and the West Indies, Dhoni paid the ultimate tribute to the nation's 40-year-old inspiration.
Reckoning that there has never been a buzz around a Test in history quite like this sell-out match in Mumbai, Dhoni, speaking at the stadium here, said his team wanted to do something special to make it a fitting bow for their legendary team-mate.
After Tendulkar enjoyed a last practice net in the stadium, once again proving himself a rather better batsman than the diminutive footballer scurrying around in a kickabout with the lads earlier, Dhoni was asked where he would put Sachin in the pantheon of the best cricketers.
"As far as Sachin is concerned, I will consider him as the greatest," responded Dhoni, explaining that he believed his longevity of excellence in all forms of the game was unsurpassed.
